Playground Design & Public Engagement Workshop

Design Your Own Playground (DYOP) is a community based children’s playground regeneration project. Engaged by the Leisure and Culture Services Department (LCSD) of Hong Kong, we are set out to design 3 dated playgrounds at 3 different locations at Hong Kong. Our mission was to generate a series of pubic workshops and online surveys to collect a wide spread of opinions and data from local school, communities, parents and children, and transform theses visions to our playground designs.

The engagement workshops were carried out at the original playground, supported by around 20 local families at each location. They created their ideal playground with handcraft materials and story telling activities. Ideas were exchanged and collected, the highest rated play elements and project theme were selected as the backbone of playground design at next stage.
