Renovating the entrance and ticket counter of Macpherson Indoor Stadium in the busy commercial district of Mong Kok.

We were tasked to redesign a distinctive and inviting entrance and to ease the flow of visitors during peak times. Our intention is to enlarge the existing frontage by placing the ticket counter aside. Entrance is recessed to reserve a waiting space for visitors. The boundary of foyer is dissolved into the street when the glass partitions are widely opened.

White eco-fibre cement board was used as the main façade material. We wanted to offer a sense of break and breathe in the busy streetscape by plain and white intervals. Transparency of full height glass brought natural light into the interior and dissolved the boundary against the street.
